About Me
My name is Jeff and I am 17 years old. I am a Senior AP student and I have been a People to People Student Ambassador since 2006. I have traveled to Australia, Italy, Greece, England, France, Ecuador and The Galapagos Islands, the inaugural delegations to both Costa Rica and India representing the United States. I just returned from South Africa as part of the National Delegation and I have been honored with a position on the National Delegation Antarctica Expedition December 2013. The program, founded by President Eisenhower in 1956 promotes international understanding while building leadership skills among America’s youth. He believed that if people from different cultures could come together in peace and friendship, so eventually would nations.
People to People Student Ambassadors have to be nominated and are then carefully interviewed and evaluated before acceptance. I am honored to have been selected. I believe that my experience as a Student Ambassador has given me a unique outlook on planning my future. One of my goals includes obtaining a letter of recommendation for a Military Academy where I am considering studying Political Science and/or pre-law with an emphasis on foreign affairs.
This summer, I came a step closer to my goal of visiting all seven continents with the program to South Africa and I am looking forward to continuing to broaden my perspectives of the world and gaining a better understanding of our environment when I travel to Antarctica. This program will complete my goal of traveling to all seven continents and I plan to share my experience with schools and civic clubs in our community.
People to People Ambassador Programs are tuition based and Students are responsible for funding their itinerary. Currently I have several fundraising projects ongoing. I have a website called FUN Grams and another called Jeff's Jewel of the Month and I participate in a fundraising program with Sonic Drive-Ins selling Community First Discount Cards. I am also very grateful for donations and contributions that I receive.
